17 Things You Need To Know From Attending UK WWE Raw And Smackdown

2. Obnoxious Crowds Are No Longer Funny

A year ago when "JBL" chants would break out naturally, it was a funny thing. Now, the crowd trying to get itself over, is really tiresome. The Liverpool crowd going in didn't care about seeing wrestling, they just cared about making internet heroes of themselves. Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio described this as "obnoxious." Having sat through both shows, I can confirm that there were many obnoxious people in the crowd. Sheamus and Rusev never had a chance. As Meltzer detailed in this week's Wrestling Observer Newsletter, that was a good match. So called "smart" fans didn't care. They just wanted to hold snark signs up and do undermining chants. When the beachball stuff started, that was funny in the first instance. Then it just became an insult to the wrestlers. The funny thing is, as obsessed as the crowd was with getting itself over, this show was always going to be edited.
