Stone Cold wants to know if AJ's family were financially well off when he was young and he says they grew up dirt poor. The six of them lived in a trailer, and he recalls a back bedroom that no one would sleep in because it was either too hot or too cold, so his parents would sleep in the living room on a fold-out couch while he and his three brothers all crammed in one room together.

His humble beginnings are the reason he's so appreciative of everything he's achieved, and says that to this day when he walks to the mailbox he'll look back at his house and marvel at he's far he's come.

Styles attended Anderson College on a scholarship and was studying Physical Education, but he dropped out as soon as his first spring break rolled around. He didn't have a plan B at the time, he just went home and got a regular job.

He was dating the girl he knew he would marry, and two friends told him they were going to become pro wrestlers. When the guys found a place to train in Cornelia, Georgia, he got in the ring and immediately knew he could do it.
