Steve talks about how some guys aren't cut out for the business because they're "allergic to the mat" and calls the flat back bump the litmus test for who can and can't make it. Obviously AJ was conditioned for bumping due to all his experience in contact sports, but Steve wants to know how he developed the athletic style that he still utilizes to this day.

He gives credit to his wife, who was his girlfriend at the time. She was involved in a cheerleading competition and AJ began working with her which is where he learned how to do his flips.

He was never afraid to try anything in the ring and jokes that promoters said "This guy can do a shooting star press, let's throw him in there" even though he was nowhere near ready.
