17 Things We Learned From AJ Styles On Talk Is Jericho
7. The Talent Exodus From New Japan
Jericho mentions how he left the company at the same time as Shinsuke Nakamura and his Bullet Club colleagues Doc Gallows and Karl Anderson and asks what that was like. AJ says it was a tough day because he, Gallows and Anderson all really love the office at New Japan because of what they'd done for them and how well they'd been treated. It made it even harder because he knew Nakamura had just given his notice a week prior, and putting them through that was extremely emotional. He calls Gedo and the management true professionals in everything they did who thanked them as they were leaving. He calls it a pleasure working for them, and Jericho says they have to know deep down inside that as an American, working in New Japan isn't an ideal long-term job due to being away from your home and your family. AJ agrees, saying that everything he does is for his family and that was one of the biggest reasons why he made the jump.
