17 Things We Learned From AJ Styles On Talk Is Jericho

1. Goals In WWE & Favorite NJPW Match

Jericho asks now that he's arrived and the world is abuzz, what are his goals in the WWE? He replies that he wants to become part of the family and be a known WWE commodity, more so than anywhere else he's worked. He wants to go throw immigration and have them know he's a WWE wrestler. Chris then asks what match was his favorite from his time in Japan, and he says it's so hard to pick one, but mentions the bout between he and Tanahashi in the G1 tournament. He calls it an outstanding match that actually made people in the front row cry. He recalls having Tanahashi in his submission The Calf-Killer - renamed The Calf-Crusher by WWE - and thinking he'd had him in it too long but Tanahashi was able to read the crowd and feel the emotion growing and they milked it for the perfect amount of time. He says the fact that they put time and character into that match and all the little things are what made it so great. This was an awesome interview and you can tell how happy AJ is to be in WWE, as well as sensing his relief that his debut and appearances have been so well-received. There's a clear sense of being a good company man in a lot of his answers, but that's perfectly fine because he's worked his *ss off for years for this opportunity and he's wise to make sure that he doesn't let anything screw it up. This is one of the best Talk is Jericho episodes in a while, and a big score considering what a hot topic AJ Styles is currently. Check it out at http://podcastone.com/Talk-Is-Jericho
