17 Things We Learned From The Dudley Boyz On Talk Is Jericho
11. Inventing The 3D
Y2J inquires about their legendary finishing move and asks where they got it from. D-Von says they put it together while working at the ECW dojo. Bubba said he had been watching a Nitro match between Dean Malenko and Rey Mysterio, and he saw a spot similar to the 3D where Dean shot Rey into the air as he was coming off the ropes and Rey took a flat pancake bump. Bubba says as he watched it he was amazed at the air Rey was able to get and thought it would be cool if you gave the person a diamond cutter on the way down to the mat, which planted the seed for the move. Bubba had actually used the move on D-Von to end their feud, so when the two of them got together he wanted to try and turn it into a double team move. They went down to the dojo and used Spike as a human crash test dummy testing out the move. Bubba adds that they're very proud of the fact that only two people have ever kicked out of the 3D. He mentions Masato Tanaka but refused to name the other person - Chris Sabin - calling him "one other kid in TNA", but when Jericho asks him for the name he simply responds with "Nah, we don't care" before finally naming him.
