17 Wrestlers Who Took Forever To Get To WrestleMania (and Why)

6. Tommy Dreamer

Like Sabu, Dreamer first wrestled for the WWF during the “ECW invasion” angle way back in 1997, but Dreamer’s debut took place in February, even before Wrestlemania 13. Five Wrestlemanias would pass until Dreamer made it back to the Federation as part of the more famous Invasion angle of 2001. From there, he became famous for eating and drinking strange things like tobacco juice, vomit, and wet cookies (the last of which doesn’t seem so bad in the scheme of things).

Still, Dreamer would not make his way onto the Wrestlemania card until ECW was re-launched by WWE. The following year at Wrestlemania 23, Dreamer finally made his Wrestlemania debut, teaming with the ECW Originals against the New Breed. Unlike everyone else on this list, Dreamer and Sabu were members of another promotion when they debuted with the WWF, but also unlike everyone else on this list, they actually won at their first Mania.
