6. The Vaudevillains With Their One Shot At Being Taken Seriously

Take everything I just said about The Ascension in the previous entry and apply it to The Vaudevillains as well. While they've not had it quite as bad as Konnor and Viktor, the team of Simon Gotch and Aiden English hasn't exactly made much of an impression since being called up.

The one chance they had to build some momentum came after an unfortunate accident where Gotch inadvertently injured Enzo Amore during a match. It was a frightening moment that saw Amore knocked out cold on live TV and Gotch unsure of how to proceed.

The following week the heel team was given some mic time, and used that promo to call attention to the injury Enzo suffered and turn it into a storyline. English said the event was tragic but that a real man would have gotten up. Then Gotch took over and said:

"We made Enzo Amore the realest guy in the emergency room. So let me ask you Enzo, how are you doing?"

Unfortunately for The Vaudevillains the angle never really went anywhere because the duo just doesn't connect with the audience. Nevertheless it was a great take on Enzo's catchphrase and a nice attempt to draw some heat from a very real event.
