For all the effort Triple H has made to rehabilitate 205 Live into something watchable once a week, the Cruiserweight Championship tournament final was destined for WrestleMania Kickoff duties. That said, last year's title clash between Neville and Austin Aries didn't suffer from going on first in Orlando's blazing hot sun...until the DVD came out and left them out in the cold.

This year, the death-defying duo duking it out are attempting something substantially different from the 'King Of The Cruiserweights' and the 'Greatest Man That Ever Lived'. Rather than just fighting for supremacy and to be top dog in a dilapidated yard, Cedric Alexander and Mustafa Ali must wage a war for the very soul of their brand and its belt after the real and kayfabe tarnishing it suffered at the leopard-print gloves of since-departed suspect entity Enzo Amore.

Alexander's path to glory stalled underneath the oppression of Enzo's time with the title. But he'll look for echoes of his legendary 2016 clash with Kota Ibushi when he takes to 'The Grandest Stage' against aerialist Ali, only with the outcome flipped to see him crowned Champion. The result - much like the overarching aim of the entire tournament - will hopefully reestablish the purple strap as one to aspire to own rather than run a mile from.
