18 Reasons Why Last Night's WWE Raw Was An Absolute Mess

9. Hot-Shotting The DIY Reunion

Heavy Machinery are the bushwhackers now and it sucks bye

There's a lot to unpack with this DIY reunion, so as we've already talked about their cold Raw introductions, let's mention the fact that NXT's writers spent years weaving a dense, layered narrative, the next step logical step of which would've seen them reunite for a proper 2-on-2 tag bout down in developmental, only for Vince McMahon to blow it on a heatless Monday Night Raw match.

This sucks. Yes, Raw is a bigger stage, but Full Sail University was the right place for this story beat. A minuscule crowd by comparison, but one that would have actually been invested in what was going on, and would've given the wrestlers the right responses. Instead, WWE served it up to a bunch of people who probably didn't have a clue who the two developmental dweebs wrestling the new Raw Tag Team Champions even were.

There's hot-shotting, and then there's being negligent and destructive. This was the latter. Why bother telling stories in the first place?
