In a touchy subject, a fan inquired about Justin speaking out regarding his relationship with the late Connor Michalek. The former ring announcer posted a blog where he detailed his relationship with Connor and his family, and how he felt cast aside by WWE, who co-opted Connor as a sort of mascot for their own philanthropic efforts.

Roberts admitted he knew when he posted the blog that there was a very real chance he would experience a massive amount of negative backlash. When he put it out there he could tell there were people who understood his motivation and that he wasn't looking for credit, but people who only read the headlines took it how they wanted to.
