18 Things We Learned From Shane McMahon's Tell-All WWE Network Podcast
1. WrestleMania 32
Mick talks about the enormity of facing The Undertaker in WWE's biggest show of all-time, and wants to know what's going through Shane's mind; if he feels he can possibly live up to that legacy.
Shane says he got the call from Vince about three weeks before his return in Detroit and they discussed the potential of the match. He'd been friends with The Undertaker for a long time and had traveled together, but had never really done much together onscreen.
McMahon says he was flattered and humbled that Taker would have confidence and want to step in the ring with him, and he told his wife that this was it. Right time, right opponent, right show.
The two recap the emotion of that night, with Shane highlighting how special it was to have his children accompany him to the ring, and says that after the bout he received one of those rare pats on the back that they mentioned earlier. He calls WrestleMania 32 an amazing experience that he got to share with his entire family.
The two then wrap things up, with Shane promising to do a second installment where they talk about the current product and we close the interview at just a little over an hour.
This was probably the best of all the WWE Network podcasts thus far. For what Foley lacked in hosting skills (he did fine, he's just not as skilled as Austin or even Jericho) Shane more than made up for his with his candor and honesty. We got some great insight into what it was like to be the son of the eccentric Vince McMahon as well as the driving motivations behind many of the major decisions Shane has made throughout his life.
This is great stuff and worth this month's $9.99 alone.
