18 Things You Might Have Missed From WWE Backlash 2018
1. That Was Nakamura's Fifth Televised Shot At The WWE Title
To date, Shinsuke Nakamura has had WWE Title opportunities at SummerSlam and Hell In A Cell in 2017, as well as WrestleMania 34, the Greatest Royal Rumble and Backlash this year. That makes five televised attempts at WWE's top prize for Shinsuke in total, and he's won none of them.
Nakamura's WWE Title shot record reads as two losses to Jinder Mahal and three to AJ Styles.
It's getting to that time when Nakamura either needs to win the thing or take a break from the main event mix. The latter idea is a bit troublesome; having just turned heel, Shinsuke should be in the title hunt, but it makes him look foolish when Tom Phillips is laying out his failure rate to fans at home on commentary.
Another title shot without winning could be detrimental to Nakamura's credibility. That's something WWE must keep in mind.
