Randy Orton's work could be considered on the slower end of the scale these days. Watch any Orton TV match and you'll see a rest hold sequence or two. That's just the way he works, and it's not a major issue.

At Backlash, he mixed that deliberate attack up with some heelish tendencies, and he also smirked at the crowd when he was inflicting damage on Hardy, a beloved babyface, more than once.

Maybe this hints at an upcoming heel turn for Randy that would freshen his character up a tad, or perhaps both men felt one needed to play the rogue so their match had some meaning. Whatever the case, it was most noticeable when Orton was grinding Hardy down.

He seemed to revel in the punishment.
