18 Things You Probably Missed From WWE SmackDown (July 2)

18. A Braun Strowman Sighting

All aboard the 'Strowman Express'!

Well, sort of. Big Braun showed up during the opening recap vid - as Paul Heyman ran through the list of dudes that Roman Reigns has "slaughtered" since becoming Universal Champion, WWE decided to show Strowman getting choked out by their very own 'Tribal Chief'.

Braun hasn't been seen on company programming since departing on 2 June.

17. Sonya Deville Doesn’t Have Music?

Sonya Deville came out for her MITB announcement to AC/DC's 'Are You Ready?'. No, she didn't have her own personalised entrance tune, and WWE didn't even have the decency to hand Sonya a tron either. Instead, she strolled out in the most generic 'WWE management' way.

What happened to her old music and video wall? Surely the production truck still has those assets on an SD card somewhere? This was weird.

16. A Familiar Look

Edge 2021
WWE

You've seen those eyes before.

Edge paused mid-promo and reverted to the desperate heel he used to be. That, rather handily, came after the man himself claimed he had evolved since "2006 Edge". Typically, his facial expressions were great, but so was his timing.

The 'Rated-R Superstar' revealed (with just one look) that he hasn't changed after all. In fact, his charming babyface moments are little more than a ruse designed to trick everyone into thinking he's some balanced family man.
