19 Nastiest WWE Breakups
3. CM Punk
The CM Punk/WWE saga is the gift that keeps on giving for fans of wrestling drama. If you have even a cursory knowledge of modern wrestling, you're probably aware of what's gone down, but just to refresh:
In early 2014, CM Punk, feeling a ton of mounting injuries and sick of his spot on the card, walked out of WWE the night after the Royal Rumble. The company suspended him... and then fired him months later on the day of his wedding. Ouch.
Months later, Punk showed up on Colt Cabana's podcast and devoted two episodes of Colt's show to slagging off WWE. The company weren't happy about Punk revealing what a mess they were, and sent Dr. Chris Amann to sue him and Cabana for defamation. This court case was dragged out for years, with several of Punk's personal and professional relationships deteriorating in the process, including with once best friend Cabana.
Finally, a few months ago, the judge ruled in favor of Punk and Cabana in the Amann trial, and supposedly, that wrapped up all this ugliness... except Cabana is now suing Punk for court fees.
Like I said: gift that keeps on giving.
