19 Nastiest WWE Breakups
18. Jim Cornette
Jim Cornette's original relationship with WWE was essentially a ticking time bomb. A man well-known for his outspoken, traditionalist views on wrestling, Corny wasn't a fan of WWE's product even before he joined the company.
However, as his position grew over the course of the '90s, his disdain grew even worse. Moreover, he was forced to work with personalities that continually pushed him over the edge (namely Kevin Dunn and Vince Russo).
Wanting to save himself from a mental breakdown, Cornette suggested he leave Connecticut and run a developmental program in OVW. The company agreed, and for a while, things were grand.
Unfortunately, once John Laurinaitis replaced Jim Ross as head of talent relations, the bad times began again. Disdainful of Johnny Ace's eye for talent and style of business, Cornette was soon back on the edge. Finally, he blew a gasket at the talent who would one day become Santino Marella. Angry at Marella's no-selling of The Boogeyman during an OVW show, Cornette slapped the bejeezus out of the fake Italian.
Fed up with Cornette's shenanigans, WWE relieved him of duty at OVW, and Cornette was finally able to find peace of mind at last.
Just kidding: he went to TNA and was forced to work with Vince Russo for three years.
