19 Nastiest WWE Breakups
14. Wendi Richter
Oh yeah, Bret Hart? You got screwed? Try living the rest of your life knowing your were shoot schoolboy'd by the Fabulous Moolah.
It's pretty weird that Wendi Richter has been glossed over in WWE history, especially considering how obsessed they are now with pushing the Women's Revolution and all the "trailblazers." Richter was the original female face of the Rock 'n Wrestling Connection. It was her on-screen friendship with Cyndi Lauper that allowed WWE its biggest mainstream buzz in the buildup to WrestleMania I.
As the Women's Champion, Richter was set to ride the wave of Hulkamania, but Vince McMahon had other ideas. Depending on who you believe, Richter either refused to sign a new contract while still being champion, or Vince just wanted to push her away once and for all. Either way, on November 25th at Madison Square Garden, a masked wrestler named The Spider legit rolled up Richter to win the title. The Spider in question? Everyone's favorite: The Fabulous Moolah.
Richter was eventually inducted in the WWE Hall of Fame in 2010, but still: there's no way the company want you googling her and how her tenure ended.
