13. Mauro Ranallo

WWE are not a very gentle company, and it's clear that also applies to matters of mental health.

Mauro Ranallo, NXT's current play-by-play announcer, has always been open and upfront about his battles with bipolar disorder. However, if we're to surmise from how his run as SmackDown announcer ended, such a condition was not handled well by WWE management.

It's a very fuzzy situation where nothing concrete was known. However, best we can tell, Ranallo found it extremely difficult working with Vince McMahon and John Layfield. Vince, of course, is the man always yelling in the announcer's ears during shows, and Layfield was Mauro's broadcast partner on SmackDown. Something, or a cumulation of things, went down, and in early 2017, Mauro walked out of the company seemingly for mental health reasons.

This whole situation was an ugly controversy, and JBL took a huge hit in reputation from which he probably won't recover (at least in the eyes of hardcore fans). There was a massive debate about the culture of "hazing" in WWE, but ultimately, like most controversies, everything just sort of died down. Ranallo was eventually brought back to NXT (where evidently he answers only to Michael Cole and Triple H), so all the incompatible personalities are kept apart.
