Sandra says that the two of them bonded through their love of music, and in “the old days when CD burning was a thing” he was constantly asking her to make him playlists, whether it be for traveling the roads or working out.

Jericho wants to know what kind of music she would put on these CDs, and she said that it was a lot of hard rock such as Pantera, Metallica and the Foo Fighters. She also exclaimed that this was around the time that Eminem’s Marshall Mathers LP had been released and Benoit was really into that as well.

Somehow my brain refuses to accept the thought of Chris Benoit jamming out to Eminem, but that somewhat odd thought is suddenly interrupted when I recall that that particular album featured the song “Kim” in which Eminem murders his girlfriend in a fit of rage and the visual takes on an eerie tone.

Sandra was also the first person to introduce Chris to Motorhead and said they were together in the car the first time he ever heard the band’s seminal classic “Ace of Spades".

Benoit was so blown away that he had her put the song on repeat, and after that he became a big fan, something she was reminded of with the recent passing of frontman and bassist Lemmy Kilmister.
