14. Did She Sense Anything Leading Up The Tragedy?
Jericho extolls the virtue of his friend, saying that if you had polled 100 people in the wrestling business about Benoit's character, no less than 100 of them would speak highly of him, adding that many of his peers looked up to him. He wants to know what she witnessed in the events leading up to the fateful weekend.
Sandra says prior to that there were a couple of heated moments, but one in particular where Chris had left the house and Nancy had gotten a restraining order against him. Chris didn't get "punch in the face physically violent" but it was intense. He pushed his wife into the island in their kitchen and she had been down that road before and recognized the signs, calling both the police and her sister.
That went on for almost three weeks, and during that time Johnny Grunge came over and tried to get the two to reconcile. He enlisted Sandra in the effort, and after speaking with Chris he convinced her that he was sorry.
She got Nancy to speak to him and they ended up working things out. That was about two years before the murders took place.
