19 Things WRESTLING Wants You To Forget About CM Punk

13. The Art Of Wrestling...

Vince McMahon CM Punk

Wrestling has a weird way of pulling historic events together coincidentally, and CM Punk's 2023 Monday Night Raw return falling nine years to the day after his incendiary 2014 appearance on Colt Cabana's Art Of Wrestling podcast is yet another one of those little bits of happenstance.

An incredible listen to this day, Punk's articulate and enraged guide to a WWE run gone very very wrong remains captivating even with knowledge of the system changing and Punk himself making the shocking move to return "home". Not least considering some of the specific adjustments during the time away - Punk's detailing of broken promises from Vince McMahon and a fractured relationship with Triple H speaks to no hope of a reunion with either.

But with the exit of the former came the olive branch from the latter, and just about every interaction the two have through Punk's protestations on the pod makes this latest turn of events the most improbable of all. And when he wasn't shooting on the authority figures, he was targeting that folk who opened up the best friends up to legal and personal issues they'd never fully get to move forward from.
