19 Things WRESTLING Wants You To Forget About CM Punk

12. ...The Aftermath

Vince McMahon CM Punk
WWE

CM Punk and Colt Cabana found themselves in a grim legal battle with WWE and company physician Dr. Chris Amann following the Art Of Wrestling episodes, thanks to comments made by Punk about injuries he'd sustained from the care/aftercare he received. Or didn't, as his stories went.

A defamation case went to trial, Amann was unsuccessful, and that could have been that. Then, as if that financially and emotionally exhausting experience wasn't enough, the two were tied back up in legal paperwork with each other.

Cabana filed a lawsuit on two separate occasions over the payment of legal fees, bringing to an end their friendship once and for all, had it not been damaged enough already. The aftermath of this had a ripple effect that would change wrestling in ways most unexpected. Not least considering that a hypothetical company where they could both be colleagues again didn't yet exist.
