2 Ups & 4 Downs From AEW Rampage (July 28)

Downs...

4. Been Here Before

Hikaru Shida Toni Storm
AEW

Hikaru Shida and Toni Storm will wrestle for the AEW Women's Title on the 200th edition of Dynamite this coming Wednesday. Press pause if you've heard that one before - the pair also faced off on the flagship last October. Sure, that's a while ago, but the Women's Title picture is back to being totally uninspired and boring.

Shida and Nyla Rose tried hard to suck the fans in attendance in, but some sloppy exchanges towards the end knackered the match, and nobody in the stands sounded too thrilled by anything going on. This is just more of the same for a division that flits between bang average and completely overlooked.

Sorry, but it's true.

Does anybody buy Hikaru as the woman to take that belt from Toni on Wednesday? Therein lies the problem with lining up endless strings of matches exactly like it. No-one cares, 'cause there's a real 'been there, done that' vibe to everything.
