2 Ups & 4 Downs From AEW Rampage (July 28)

1. The Right Winners

Brian Cage Big Bill

Rampage's opener was a cluster*ck, as expected, but at least Big Bill and Brian Cage ended the thing as the correct winners. They've shown some chemistry together as a tag-team lately, and they'll have a fun match with either FTR or the MJF and Adam Cole duo. That'll be one to look out for.

Bill and Bri's clothesline spot looked awesome again. The "assisted chokeslam" (Excalibur's words) out of the corner certainly didn't, but both lads can work on that if they're gonna keep it in ye olde arsenal. It's pretty strange that AEW picked Mike Bennett and Matt Taven to work a squash instead of these guys too.

Just a little observation there.

On the plus side, Bill and Cage looked like the kind of powerhouse unit All Elite has always lacked. Yes, they have The Butcher and The Blade, but there's something about this pairing that feels more alive, immediate and exciting than those guys.
