2 Ups & 4 Downs From AEW Rampage (March 8 - Results & Review)

Downs...

4. Can We Have Some Direction, Please?

Action Andretti AEW
AEW

Both Penta and Action Andretti put a shift in during their match on the show, but it's getting real hard to care much about some of the bouts AEW puts on. Some of the things said on commentary are a giveaway there: Excalibur was reduced to claiming that Andretti "wants to build some momentum heading into spring".

It's all too generic, directionless and a bit meh.

There was no shred of character development or story for these guys to focus on. It was an exhibition when more is needed to turn matches into something people will pay proper attention to. Also, it'd be great if these lads could sell some moves every now and then. What's the point in all the bumps and bruises if they never linger for longer than 10 seconds, y'know?

The fact the announcers veered off into chat about Chris Jericho's upcoming match with CMLL's Titan on Collision should tell you everything you need to know about Penta vs. Action. It was one of those matches nobody will remember an hour or so after it happened.
