2 Ups & 5 Downs From AEW Rampage (June 10)

AEW just missed a huge opportunity with Will Ospreay on Friday's Rampage.

AEW's concurrent build towards Forbidden Door and a Blood & Guts special continued on this week's episodes of Dynamite and Rampage. Now, here's where this intro gets tricky - this writer wanted to like what was put in front of him on the latter, but he had a really hard time with Tony Khan's decision making.

Obviously, what's good and what's bad is subjective. Some will come away from Rampage feeling positive about where All Elite's product is going. That's fine, and it's awesome if you're looking forward to seeing a laundry list of exhibition bouts on pay-per-view soon.

Story trumps that every time for this fan though.

That's why some of the 'Downs' featured here will polarise opinion. On the plus side, Eddie Kingston marched full-on towards Blood & Guts without making everything look like a breeze, and Jade Cargill finally has another powerful challenger not-named Athena to worry about.

As for those negatives? Ooft! They were glaring. Comedy skits that failed to hit the mark, odd presentation that made the refs/agents look daft and a huge missed opportunity when it comes to Will Ospreay blighted the show.
