2 Ups & 5 Downs From AEW Rampage (June 10)

Downs...

5. Why Was This A Tag?

Jay Lethal Sonjay Dutt Satnam Singh
AEW

Satnam Singh is a f*cking unit, and it makes sense that AEW fancies casting him as a monstrous mauler who can handle business all on his own. So, with that in mind, having Jay Lethal score the win during Singh's in-ring debut was an odd decision.

Davey Vega and Mat Fitchett were there to make the big man look good, but...All Elite chiefs decided that Lethal should muscle in as a partner and get the match-winning pin? Satnam shouldn't need a tag-team partner to handle two enhancement guys in the first place!

Bizarre.

The commentators tried to make this portion of the show all about Singh, but it wasn't. Lethal and Sonjay Dutt actually stole most of the focus by barking into the cameras and, y'know, winning the match. Meanwhile, Singh looked like backup more than anything else.
