2 Ups & 5 Downs From AEW Rampage (June 10)

4. Whatever This Was

Hook and Danhausen have real potential as one of those trope-tastic 'odd couple' tags that pro wrestling is occasionally fascinated by. However, they'll need more help from those laying out episodes than they got on this week's Rampage. Whatever this was, it was a total miss.

Christ knows what the golf cart thing is all about, or why brooding bad ass Hook needs to be in a customised buggy in the first place. Also, the whole promo seemed rather uncoordinated; announcer Lexy Nair didn't seem to know what was going to be said, and she stood around awkwardly waiting on the cameras to fade afterwards.

Bad wrestling comedy can be the worst, man.

It would've been way better to see Hookhausen gel as a team in another tag match (possibly replacing the naff Satnam Singh situation on the show) than this. Watching the pair circle arenas in golf carts is hardly compelling television.
