2 Ups & 5 Downs From This Week's Impact Wrestling (Mar 1)
1. Faking An Injury?
Johnny Impact's reign as the World Champion hasn't been overly exciting to say the least. Some good matches here and there (what else would you expect from The Shaman of Sexy?) but nothing too interesting in the story department. This week changed that.
The seemingly neverending war between Impact, Brian Cage, Killer Kross, and Moose continued this week as the latter two got a win over Cage and the champion. This win only came after Johnny dropped off the apron with an apparent neck injury, leaving The Machine to be choked out by Kross. Impact offered Cage a title opportunity last week if he could help with the Kross and Moose issue - looks as if he's trying to wear Cage out a bit.
It certainly adds an interesting dynamic to Johnny as champion. Up until this point, he wasn't really anything more than an athletic former WWE star. It's a much-needed refreshment for the main event scene right now, especially with the same four faces going at it week in and week out.
A silly move from Johnny Impact though - he could've had Brian Cage on his side for a while longer but instead, he's already ditched him. Watch your back Impact...
