2 Ups & 5 Downs From WWE SmackDown (Mar 5)

1. Obvious (But Not In A Bad Way)

Earlier, this article whinged about the obviousness of the Women's Tag Title scene. That was bad obviousness - this, however, was good. Everyone knew that Bryan was going to beat Jey Uso in a cage match and earn his shot at Roman's Universal Title, but that somehow didn't hurt the headliner one bit.

It was the right call, and both guys worked hard to put on a show.

The way Jey pushed Dan's head against the steel in front of Reigns was excellent, and the same could be said for Roman's flared nostrils when the babyface rallied against Uso's abuse for a kick ass comeback sequence or two. WWE also shot this one very well. They always seemed to get the perfect angle for a look at Bryan's peril, Jey's frustration, Roman's annoyance or Heyman's worry.

Anyone who was left hollow by last week's double count out decision had nothing to worry about. WWE rescued that situation by sticking Daniel and Jey inside the cage and letting them produce a logical brawl with a pleasing finish.
