2 Ups & 6 Downs From WWE SmackDown (Aug 27)

3. Becky Lynch Going Happy-Go-Lucky

Becky Lynch is at her best when she's defiantly swaggering her way to ringside, grabbing mics and telling everybody why she won't put up with their sh*t. Remember all those fab moments from 2019? The fights with Ronda Rousey, the slaps to Triple H - the sheer rebellion of it all.

Yep, that's gone.

2021's version of 'The Man' is a smiler. Lynch was giddy-looking at SummerSlam, but that was understandable. Here? Less so. She should've reverted to type and been the large-and-in-charge personality who totally bossed WWE up until falling pregnant last year. What was this merry nonsense all about?!

Hopefully, this is just a temporary thing designed to lure fans into a false sense of security. Becky needs to go back to being hard-nosed soon though, because that's why people fell in love with her push in the first place. It's legit depressing to think that Bex has turned the clock back to 2016.
