2 Ups & 6 Downs From WWE SmackDown (May 28)

Downs...

6. The Women’s Tag-Team Problem

Natalya Tamina

WWE's YouTube channel and website team has done a better job of explaining how much winning the Women's Tag-Team belts meant to Tamina than the writers. Exactly none of that character depth or emotion has been explored on Raw or SmackDown since she and Natalya bagged the titles.

Why not?

Instead, WWE seem to think that throwaway matches against running joke tags like The Riott Squad are the way to go. Despite the company's intentions (to present these veterans as worthy, hardworking champs), they're actually just exposing the fact that this division is paper-thin.

The bloom will come off the rose quick for Tamina and Natalya if they don't get some strong heel challengers soon. Nobody needs to see another bout between them and the tired Nia Jax and Shayna Baszler duo, but The Riotts aren't worthy opponents either.
