2 Ups & 6 Downs From WWE SmackDown (May 28)

2. A Feud That Doesn’t Need Comedy

More. Bad. Comedy.

The 'Big Swing' gag Seth Rollins and Cesaro worked prior to WrestleMania 37 was all the laughs their feud needed. WWE don't have a filter when it comes to lame humour though, which is why they pushed Seth out on SmackDown in his new suit to crack poor jokes about an absent babyface.

Last week, Rollins claims he "blacked out" due to rage and doesn't remember attacking Cesaro. Then, pivoting, Seth said that Cesaro and the fans were the ones to blame for pushing him to that point. That's fine, but all the "comedic" interludes need to get right in the bin ASAP.

WWE should've stayed serious after that intense beatdown skit on last Friday's episode, especially if they knew it'd then cause a credible face like Cesaro to skip the next week of telly. Here, Rollins came across as a crap stand up trying to force laughs rather than highlight the threat he poses.
