2 Ups & 9 Downs From WWE Raw (March 29)

5. Raw Women’s Division Woes

On paper, the Raw women’s division should be one of the better groups in wrestling. But then you notice that of the 16 women, two are on maternity leave, one is a part-time wrestler, and another is out due to COVID, and you get that there are some complications.

But that still doesn’t excuse how anemic this division is right now. And nothing exemplified it better than the singles match between Shayna Baszler and Naomi. You had four other women – Nia Jax, Dana Brooke, Mandy Rose and Lana – at ringside, and things broke down dramatically. And this writer couldn’t care less about any of the women involved.

The one woman with potential – Shayna Baszler – got rolled up and pinned during the fracas, because that’s what we do. It didn’t make it any better when Baszler tried to threaten Rhea Ripley – the woman called up to fill out the diminished division – just moments after getting rolled up.

Again, does anyone think about these things? Of course not.
