20 Absolute Best Wrestlers In The World Right Now

18. Rush

Daniel Bryan Best In The World
CMLL

CMLL's talent roster is vast (Mexico's biggest promotion have already used over 200 individual wrestlers in 2019), but the company has a depth issue when it comes to genuine superstar rudos. That's why Rush is so valuable to them. The man projects a stronger heel demeanour than anyone else in the country, and arguably the entire sport, with his model-esque good looks, bad boy image, and effortless, c*nty swagger transcending all language barriers.

Rush's charisma makes him one of the first wrestlers who catches the eye when getting into lucha libre. Everything he does drips with personality, from his matches to his promos, and in locking him down in North America for the next 12 months, Ring Of Honor have acquired who should be mainstream wrestling's next big Hispanic star. That he isn't already a global phenomenon has everything to do with lucha's lack of attention outside of the domestic market than any shortcomings on Rush's behalf.

A pure brawler between the ropes, Rush's long-running feud with L.A. Park is one of the most exciting in the sport today, with each arena-traversing scrap an unhinged spectacle. Expect AEW, WWE, and NJPW to all throw big-money offers his way by the time his ROH run is done.
