Daniel Bryan might be the best wrestler in the world on his day - the problem is that he isn't allowed to show it on as regular a basis as some of the others on our list, hence his positioning.

This isn't to say Bryan is totally underused. Far from it, in fact. He's currently embroiled in a WWE Universal Championship feud with the promotion's hottest character and was solidly pushed for the bulk of 2019. He's always on television, always cutting outstanding promos, and proves himself an in-ring genius any time he steps through the ropes. This would guarantee a top three if not for the lulls on his record, with programmes like the Erick Rowan whodunit saga grinding Bryan to a halt.

Regardless, Bryan has looked like the wrestler most likely to draw a traditionally great wrestling match from 'The Fiend' and is one of those guys who elevates every single thing he touches. He's one of the best professional wrestlers of all time. We're lucky to have him, even if he isn't quite operating at his highest level at the moment.
