20 Absolute Best Wrestlers In The World Right Now

16. Roman Reigns

Best in the world 2021

Turning Roman Reigns heel was the right move on many different levels and has transformed The Head of the Table into one of the few WWE wrestlers genuinely capable of moving the needle on their own, though the character has declined somewhat after a dominant early start.

Reigns still crushes the opposition, though his Tribal Chief persona is more of a coward than a monster, regularly stacking insurmountable odds against his opponents to fortify his own position and guarantee victory. While the character work is still good, this variation of a chickensh*t heel isn't what could have been.

Roman still feels big, important, and powerful. He looms over SmackDown like an indomitable giant. Paul Heyman is a contributory presence rather than a crutch, as Reigns regularly cuts the most convincing promos on his brand, and while his talk-and-brawls aren't for everyone, 2021 has thus far been devoid of the amateur dramatics that plagued his bigger bouts in 2020. Botched finish aside, Reigns' last throw-down with Kevin Owens was a hoot.

Shifting away from cowardice would suit Reigns well going into WrestleMania 37 and beyond, though he's still doing some of the best work in WWE at the moment.
