20 Absolute Best Wrestlers In The World Right Now

20. Josh Alexander

Josh Alexander
IMPACT Wrestling

Josh Alexander's IMPACT Wrestling contract expiring earlier this month is amongst the biggest wrestling disappointments of 2022 so far, as it effectively robs fans of his best work. Without full-time employment in the United States, the Canadian has no work visa, meaning he cannot compete in the country until the situation is resolved.

Forced to return to his old construction job to compensate for lost earnings, we can only hope Alexander's situation is soon resolved. He's too talented to be out of wrestling for long.

A low-key wrestler of the year candidate in 2021, Josh has been IMPACT's most consistent singles wrestler since he and Ethan Page dissolved their great tag team, The North. He has held the company down between the ropes during the pandemic, bringing intense, snappy, and technically astute offense to a product that desperately needed it, and with recent times yielding bangers with opponents as diverse as Charlie Haas and JONAH, as well as Ruby Soho and Jonathan Gresham on the indies, he left the States stronger than ever.

His minutes-long IMPACT World Title reign is still to be rectified should Alexander choose to go back there. If not, a long, fruitful in-ring run awaits in another company, where hopefully this disappointing era of his impressive work being woefully undersold by the wider wrestling fanbase will end.
