20 Absolute Best Wrestlers In The World Right Now

2. AJ Styles

AJ Styles is one of the greatest wrestlers of all time.

That's not hyperbole. 'The Phenomenal One' has been at the top of his game for over a decade now, having set the bar in TNA, NJPW, and now WWE. His résumé is incredible, and he shows no sign of slowing down, even in his 40s, with recent matches against Brock Lesnar and Finn Balor reaffirming his greatness.

The current WWE Champion's ability to transcend bad writing is perhaps his greatest strength in 2018, as no matter how mundane SmackDown gets, his performances are consistently strong. Styles dragged not one, but two good matches out of a bottom 5% wrestler in Jinder Mahal last year. This is on top of the staggering collection of ****+ star bouts he has amassed since joining the world's biggest promotion, despite facing stylistic restrictions that weren't present in his previous places of employment.

While the difference between numbers one and two isn't a coin flip, there's only a minuscule gap separating AJ and the man above him. He is, without question, the best wrestler in WWE. That he's still able to perform at such a high level 18 years into his career is astounding, and he deserves all the commendation in the world.
