Now we’re getting into some of the really good ones, with one of the best coming just last year.

The best returns and debuts are ones that are big surprises to most if not all of the audience. No one is expecting a person to show up on WWE TV suddenly. In this case, we got just that at the coveted #27 slot, when Rey Mysterio marked his return to WWE to a huge ovation from the crowd.

Mysterio is almost universally loved, so fans jumped for joy at his return. Perfectly, he was aligned briefly with John Cena and Randy Orton as the old guard facing off against the young guns Roman Reigns, Finn Bálor and eventual winner Shinsuke Nakamura.

As we all now know, Rey would show up again at Greatest Royal Rumble and then return fulltime to WWE at SmackDown 1000.
