20 Awesome WWE Royal Rumble Debuts And Returns
3. Edge (2010)
“Holy sh--!”
For once, Matt Striker hit the nail on the head when #29 came out during the 2010 Royal Rumble. Edge had been out of action for six months with a torn Achilles tendon and was rumored to be laid up for up to a year. During that time, former tag team partner Chris Jericho had laid into Edge for his injury, which set the stage for the Rumble.
Jericho had entered at #28 and was looking strong, only for Edge to blow the roof off the place and win the entire Rumble. He would go on to lose to Jericho (who won the World Heavyweight Championship the following month), but worse, one year later, Edge’s wrestling career would be over.
But at least we got this classic moment.
