20 Best Triple H Wrestling Matches Ever
17. Vs. Jeff Hardy - Armageddon 2007
Starting in 2007, WWE were testing the waters with Jeff Hardy as a possible main event player, including some high profile matches with some of the company's biggest names. By the end of the year, the one name to give him the biggest rub was Hunter Hurst Helmsley.
There was no bad blood between the two, no bizarre storyline that WWE is want to do. Just two men battling for an opportunity to compete for the company's biggest prize, the WWE Championship.
The two styles gelled exceptionally well together, with H's power and Hardy's daredevilry countering each other perfectly, until a few well placed power moves by Hunter seemed to knock Hardy off his Game. Fans watching were concerned as this may well have looked like another win for Hunter and another opportunity to usurp the main event for himself once again.
Then, just as the veteran was ready to put Hardy away, the Charismatic Enigma fought from Pedigree position and caught him in a jack-knife cover for a totally out of nowhere pinfall win. It went from crushing inevitability to surprising eletion that Jeff Hardy not only defeated the Game, but he did it clean as a sheet.
Triple H, being the good sport he was at the time, shook Hardy's hand in congratulations. And over the next year, Hardy would reach the top of the mountain, all starting from this stepping-stone victory.
