12. Vs. Batista - Vengeance 2005
The Triple H reign of terror was a dark time for the World Heavyweight Championship. Matches against men like Booker T, Goldberg, Scott Steiner had stunk out many a PPV with Triple H doing some of the worst work of his career. This Hell in a Cell against Batista assured the fans that the Game's stranglehold on the belt was finally at an end.
Following he implosion of Evolution, Batista defeated Triple H to win the World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania 21. Following a successful defence at Backlash, the two met one more time at Vengeance inside Hell in a Cell. This time, both men tore the house down!
Probably the best performer inside the Cell next to the Undertaker, the Game did everything in his power to wrestle the big gold belt away from the Animal including chain choking, Chairs, using every part of the cell to his advantage, almost with a hint of desperation about him. Batista though knew his former mentor inside out and had an answer for everything that would be thrown at him, using his power to overwhelm.
The match was won by Batista following a steel step spinebuster and his signature powerbomb. Triple H did everything in the match to make his successor look like a megastar, something which didn't go unnoticed by the fans as Hunter recieved a well-earned standing ovation.
