4. Meiko Satomura

The most experienced wrestler on our list, Meiko Satomura has been wrestling for 22 years, having debuted all the way back in 1995. She’s still going strong for Sendai Girls (one of Japan’s top joshi organisations) today, but only occasionally works for outside promotions, meaning that her work is completely alien to all but the hardest of the hardcore.

Regardless, Satomura is an utterly fantastic professional wrestler who excels in big match situations. If she’d debuted 5-10 years prior, she’d likely have just as many five star matches as the likes of Manami Toyota, whom she has wrestled several times in the past. She’ll probably never make it to WWE, but really, any list of great women’s wrestlers without her name would be incomplete - Meiko’s one of the best in the world on her day.

Fast, powerful, hard-hitting, and technically sound, her game doesn’t have a significant weakness. She knocks every major opportunity out of the park, and it’s a shame she has spent so many years flying under peoples’ radars. If we’re comparing talent to fame, Satomura is one of - if not the - most underrated wrestler on the planet.
