20 Best Wrestling Ladder Matches Ever

19. Eddie Guerrero vs. Rey Mysterio (SummerSlam 2005)

Any time Eddie Guerrero and Rey Mysterio stepped foot inside the ring together, there was magic just waiting to happen. The natural chemistry between both men was only helped by their friendship away from the wrestling business, a family like bond between their shared Mexican heritage. Add a ladder into the mix, and fans were starting to get truly excited in 2005. The only problem seemed to exist with the ongoing storyline which served as the backdrop to their big collision at Summerslam. As the heel, Guerrero was trying to find any which way he could to throw Mysterio off mentally, which is where Rey's son, Dominic came in to things. The tale told was that the boy was actually Guerrero's son, not Mysterio's, and he wanted custody of him. http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x29q345_rey-mysterio-vs-eddie-guerrero-ladder-match-wwe-summerslam-2005_sport Clearly, this came as a huge shock to the masked star, but it all felt a little overly-dramatic, and fans didn't really seem to need the angle in order to get invested into matches between the duo. Thankfully, even with the cringeworthy and awkward story, the Ladder Match at the Pay-Per-View was more than worthwhile, which is a testament to the skill of both men, they were able to overcome poor writing.
