20 Best WWE Matches Of 2015

Matches that defined the past 12 months.

Having the best match of the year is what every WWE superstar dreams of. There's a pride and legacy that comes with the honour, and with so many skilled in-ring workers on the roster, 2015 has been as competitive as ever. Sensational matches have been occurring regularly, which is ironic considering the problems with WWE's overall product this year. The reason it has been such a good year for ring work, is down to WWE's increased implementation of an indie style. Athleticism and match narrative has been at the forefront of the critical success. Several new wrestlers were called up to boost the matches, and the older generation raised their game. It can be considered a best career year for quite a few big names. In ranking the best matches, the following bouts will stand the test of time.

20. Neville Vs Chris Jericho - The Beast In The East

Neville is one of the finest wrestlers on WWE's roster, with a world of athleticism and a ton of experience to his name. One of the biggest opportunities he got this year was working Chris Jericho in Japan, and unsurprisingly, it ended up being an exceptional wrestling match. Jericho was on form, buoyed by the chance of working with a new generation talent like Neville. There was a great pace to it, with transitions from Jericho's mat wrestling to Neville's high spots. There was also a deliberate utilisation of submission and hard hitting moves, which the Japanese crowd really got into. Jericho ended up the winner at sixteen minutes, via the liontamer, proving that he can still go at an incredible level as a mid forties part timer.
