9. Randy Orton
Last year placed: 6 Randy Orton remains one of WWE's most astute performers, capable both in the ring and in overall character performances. He's still widely regarded by the casual fanbase and mainstream as one of the big stars, which is also obvious at arenas where his merchandise continues to sell well and his pops are still loud. Wrestling wise, The Viper had a very good year. His match with Seth Rollins at WrestleMania 31 was very good, as were their other efforts in the spring. In the past he has been guilty of phoning it in, but this year he was back to his very best. With a couple of PPV show-closing main events and WWE title shots to his name, Orton was right amongst the top tier, but then found himself relegated to a long and dull feud with Sheamus. He's now sidelined with what looks like serious neck and shoulder issues. With reports of neck surgery being required, there's some speculation if he'll ever return to the squared circle. Highlight of the year: WrestleMania 31 victory over Seth Rollins.
