Last year placed: 3 What a sensational year for the franchise star of WWE. He started off 2015 playing a key role in the blinding triple threat WWE Title match at the Royal Rumble. Alongside Seth Rollins and Brock Lesnar, he created magic that night. He then had a disappointingly average feud with Rusev, but spectacularly returned to form in matches against Kevin Owens and Seth Rollins. All in all, he's got at least three match of the year contenders to his name in 2015, with the first Owens match and the Rollins SummerSlam match being close to the level of the Rumble triple threat. His cage match with Rollins at Madison Square Garden was also very good. Rounding all of that off, he was consistently good whenever he performed on WWE television, with his US open challenge leading to some of Raw's best matches of 2015. He faced the likes of Neville, Sami Zayn, Cesaro and others, excelling in the spot of the established, upper-midcard veteran. Add in his value in terms of ratings and merchandise, and you can see why Vince McMahon still looks at Big Match John as WWE's top star. Highlight of the year: Royal Rumble match with Brock Lesnar and Seth Rollins.
