The Myth: When Hulk Hogan slammed André the Giant at WrestleMania III, it was an unprecedented feat; the Giant had never before been lifted and slammed to the mat.

The Truth: André took many slams over the years, some of which were even caught on film.

Long before his climactic WrestleMania showdown with Hulk Hogan, André was slammed by NWA champion Harley Race, lucha libre legend El Canek, puroresu ace Antonio Inoki, terrifying gaijin juggernaut Stan Hansen, and friggin’ Kamala. It wasn't exactly an exclusive fraternity back in the day.

If you were thinking, “Sure, but at least Hogan hadn't slammed him before WrestleMania III”, you're wrong on that count as well. During his run as a top heel in the very early 80’s, Hogan picked up André and put him down repeatedly, up and down the eastern seaboard of the United States.

‘86 Hogan remains the baldest person to execute the move, however.
